awesome film making

6th December In Te Maunga we have been doing some film making. We learnt how to make a cool film or animation. My favourite part was when we got to make the movie.This activity taught me to not rush making a movie because you have lots of time. Have you made a movie before?

Lockdown was boring

 

14th September

At home I baked stuff, I went for walks and runs, and I did homework. I learnt about baking pancakes and vanilla muffins. One thing I liked doing was when I finished my homework I got to watch Stranger things for the rest of the day. Next time we go into lockdown I'm not going to beg for more days to stay home because it's quite boring.

 In Te Maunga we had Nano Girl come to Paihia School. We learnt about science. My favourite part was when she used a leaf blower so the air made the toilet paper fly around the place. Next time she comes to our school I am going to hopefully learn much more. Do you like science?

 

17th August

In Te Maunga we did some science slides. We learnt what a hypothesis is, and it is a guess. My favourite part was making our own experiment. Next time I do an experiment I will try to plan the experiment out more. Do you like making your own experiments?

Matariki activities

26/7/2021 In Te Maunga we did some Matariki activities. We learnt about what you do at Matariki which is face painting, eating, and telling family stories. One thing I liked doing was making a Matariki poster. I tried very hard to find the information in the text. Do you like Matariki?

The deadly tsunami

The deadly tsunami On Friday March 5 Paihia school evacuated because of a tsunami. We went up the hill and sat down for a very long time. The best part of the evacuation was that we got to skip school.

My pepeha art

My pepeha Art In Te Maunga we drew our pepeha art. We started with drawing at the back page in our books. It took a couple of days but then we finally got to the main drawing. It took about 2 days to finish the drawing. Then we moved on to the colouring. When we finished, we had to write a whakatauki.

In Te Maunga we went swimming. We had to monkey climb around the pool. My favourite part of swimming was having free play. I challenged myself by staying in the pool for as long as I could even though the pool was very cold.

Protecting the fish On March 24th we had visitors at Paihia school whose names were Shirley and Jayden. We learnt how to measure fish properly. My favourite part of the visit was standing in a line and giving buckets to each other. I challenged myself by trying to figure out how wide and tall the fish and shells are.

The sweet auction

The sweet auction In Te Maunga we had an easter auction. We all had a piece of paper that said the amount of money we had. We learnt that you need to do very hard work to get more money. My favourite part was when I realised I had six thousand dollars. Next time I think I am not going to spend that much money.

The blog about sugar

The blog about sugar In Te Maunga we had a big lesson about food. We learnt how much sugar you are having when you are having a fizzy drink. My favourite part was going to the supermarket and finding vegetables that are different colours. Next time I am going to find more colourful fruits.

Sea activities

Sea activities that will blow your mind In Te Maunga we did some sea creature activities. I learnt that if you draw a fish and paint over it and around it it may not show. My favourite part was putting your hand on some paint and then using your hand to make patterns on a piece of paper. Next time I think I am going to draw a bigger fish or else it will not show.

tv series stats

Tv Series Stats In Te Maunga we did something called stats investigation. Me and Aisake cut out pieces of paper and asked people to write their favourite series down on a piece of paper. We learnt about ways to make stats in our book like writing down the options of your question and cutting out pieces of paper and making people write their choice down. Next time I am going to ask more people in the class so I get more results. It was about tv shows. In first place was Cobra Kai and second was Stranger Things.

Komodo dragon reaserch

In Te Maunga we did some research about animals. We learnt different facts about komodo dragons like they weigh up to 200 pounds and they get up to ten feet tall. My favourite part was finding the pictures. Next time I am going to get more facts. Do you like doing research?

hauora

In Te Maunga we did Hauora slides. We learnt that subheadings is a title of a paragraph that is related to your topic. My favourite part was making a scratch animation that shows the bicep moving. Next time I will check my work more. Do you like reading?

character descriptions

In Te Maunga we did character descriptions. We learnt different ways to describe characters' words like motionless, marvellous and arrogant. My favourite part was drawing our own character in our book. Next time I am going to do my work a little quicker

Team building

In Te Maunga we did team building. We learnt how much you should talk to each other when you are trying to solve a problem. My favourite team building task was going on cushions and trying to get to the last cushion. Next time I will try to talk in our group more. Do you like team building?

astronomy

In Te Maunga we did some astronomy. We learnt that the Sun is made of white hot gas. My favourite part was making a poster about the Moon. Next time we do a t -shaped literacy I will try to add more information in the slides. Do you like doing t- shaped literacy?

measurement

In Te Maunga we did some measurement activities. We learned that on a clock the tall hand is the second hand, the big hand is the minute hand, and the small hand is the hour hand. My favourite part was making a DLO after all the activities. Next time we do some more measurement activities I will read the instructions a little more. Do you like maths?
